The China Direct Logo

In 2005 China Direct commissioned Xiaohei, a popular artist in Shanghai to create a powerful corporate image.

"The concept was to create a unique image which is representative of this innovative business model. The logo, created in the form of traditional Chinese calligraphy, symbolizes multiple ideals. Incorporating a Bull with the images of the U.S. dollar and the sign of the Renminbi (the local currency of China) the logo uses the traditional colors of China, Red and yellow, found in the official flag of China. The Bull has dual meaning; on one hand it represents the Wall Street Bull, synonymous with upward trends in the financial markets, while reminiscent of the sign of the Ox in the Chinese calendar. The sign of the Ox represents power, balance, and devotion. Those born under this sign are said to be born leaders who inspire confidence in those around them. In the same manner, China Direct has pioneered an innovative business model."

Clean Technology Segment

We believe recycling operations will become strong growth drivers worldwide as natural resources continue to be depleted. Thus, we intend to opportunistically expand this segment throughout 2008 and beyond. These portfolios companies are described below.

Clean Technology Segment Portfolio Companies

Shandong CDI Wanda New Energy Co., Ltd. ("CDI Wanda")

In February 2007 we acquired a 51% interest in Shandong CDI Wanda New Energy Co., Ltd. CDI Wanda is engaged in the alternative energy and recycling industry. CDI Wanda established in 1996, is located in Jinan, the capital city of Shandong Province, and develops environmentally friendly recycling technological applications and provides ancillary services related to the operations of refineries. CDI Wanda has developed a process to recycle waste rubber tires into distillate fuels such as diesel, gasoline and fuel oil. CDI Wanda received a patent (patent number: ZL 03216290) on the application as well as the equipment from the State Intellectual Property Office of China in April 2003. CDI Wanda has received the ISO9001:2000 International Quality Management System and ISO14001:2004 International Environment System qualifications for the recycling application as well as the recycling equipment.

Yantai CDI Wanda Renewable Resources Co., Ltd. ("Yantai Wanda")

In January 2008, CDI Wanda acquired a 52% interest in Yantai CDI Wanda Renewable Resources Co., Ltd. Yantai CDI Wanda will construct and operate a scrap tire recycling center utilizing a recycling process developed by CDI Wanda.

Shanghai CDI Metal Recycling Co., Ltd. ("CDI Metal Recycling")

In February 2008 we acquired an 83% interest in Shanghai CDI Metal Recycling Co., Ltd. CDI Metal Recycling will recycle aluminum. CDI Metal Recycling expects to commence operations in April 2008.
